Review

From its outline, ‘Shaadisthan’ appears like a motivating social comment on our intrinsic social group issues. Social comment is alright, however interesting? Nah, not most. The story begins with associate degree unthinkably boring ‘live’ performance of a band that prides itself in its musical superior skill. Cut to, we tend to see a young lady Arshi (Medha Shankar) obtaining associate degree earful from her father for ‘running away’ from home thanks to that they miss their flight to Rajasthan. Now, as fate would have it, the family needs to ride with a bunch of young musicians, WHO are the groom’s friends, aiming to perform at his wedding. whereas their smoking, drinking and singing build it quite a uncomfortable journey for Arshi’s father Sanjay , it’s his own patricentric angle that may simply find yourself messing his young daughter’s life.

The film’s stimulating construct is commendable, however it will find yourself obtaining domineering and instructive  terribly presently, as a result of there isn’t abundant meat within the writing itself. What starts as a road journey flirts with some attention-grabbing moments of conflict and confrontation, however they presently peter out thanks to a weak book and boring execution. Nothing therefore attention-grabbing ever happens to stay you actually hooked to the issues of a typical bourgeois family and a bunch of trippy performers. In their quest to indicate North American nation what plagues our society, the writers infuse their story with clichés and stereotypes from each the worlds   the traditional and also the unconventional. and also the drawback is neither area unit convincing enough. For a movie that has majority of its actors taking part in musicians, there’s completely no unforgettable sound recording.

Some performances area unit on top of par. Kirti Kulhri  will well taking part in one more strong-headed feminine character championing women’s rights, however it conjointly feels a small amount forced. Actor Rajan Modi is plausible as a paranoid bourgeois father of a young lady, whose actions area unit ruled by years of problematic social organization that appear therefore traditional to him. however it’s Nivedita Bhattacharya because the affordable and wise Kamla, WHO shines during this otherwise unyielding heroic tale of social categorisation.
